Seasonal changes always brings a sense of excitement and fresh ideas. Fall is a great time to take new photos as nature begins to change and the weather cools down. Plus, there are plenty of autumn activities where you can capture the best moments of the season. If you’re looking for some inspiration, here are five creative photo ideas for all your fall photos.

Fallen Leaves

When the seasons change, the leaves start to fall in a beautiful array of warm colors. This is the best time to play outside and just have fun with your photos!

Collect a bunch of leaves and get creative with how you interact with your little props. Some of my favorite ideas are to throw the leaves in the air or use one single leaf for a close up shot.

Sweater Weather

Embrace the chilly weather and take photos in your favorite sweater. There are actually so many creative ways you can capture a photo while wearing a sweater.

Get cozy and pose with the sleeves near your face to capture the knitted textures. Pull on the fabric to add interesting angles. Or find a location that reminds you of fall such as a colorful forest or neutral toned city setting.

Scarf In Motion

Another fashion focused idea for fall is to use your scarf as a prop. Scarves give you the opportunity to add tons of motion to your photos or add an extra element to your outfit.

Play with different perspectives by tossing your scarf towards the camera. Add little movements while you pose so your scarf isn’t just laying flat against your body. Motion in photos creates a more natural and relaxed photo.

Pumpkin Everything

For many, fall means spooky season! While you can do so many creative photoshoots inspired by Halloween, the iconic pumpkin is an absolute must. Pumpkins are versatile for both spooky and cozy fall vibes.

This is your sign to visit a pumpkin patch and pose with your favorite gourd. But if you don’t have the opportunity to go, grab a pumpkin from the store (fake or real) and create your own magic.

Apple Orchard

Fall is also the best season for apples. Visiting an apple orchard and picking your own fruit is such a fun activity, why not capture a few photos at the same time!

Capture the process for the memories. Or get creative with how you pose by carrying an armful of apples.

BONUS: LET YOUR IMAGINATION SHINE

Lean into seasonal colors and let your imagination take off! What reminds you of fall? What type of photos do you like to create? Have fun with it and enjoy the process.
