#CreateWithChelle: Floral Tops

Lately, I’ve been shooting outside a lot more. I realized that I really missed the outdoors, but there is still so much you can do inside! I’ve begun to incorporate more home photoshoots into my process as it can be a great challenge and I still believe it is important to practice social distancing as well as staying home if you’re able to.

So, if you’re trying to figure out what to do at home, try playing around with some beautiful florals!

Challenge 10: Floral Tops

This trend started in summer, but every season has it’s own unique vibe. I wanted to show off the beauty of each season, plus flowers are always fun to work with! Get creative with how you arrange the flowers and style your outfit. Maybe even create a full floral outfit! The possibilities are endless.

The best part, this can all be shot from the comfort of your home! All you need is a simple background hang up a bed sheet for a quick and easy backdrop or shoot against a wall. Nothing too complicated as you want your floral arrangements to shine! Not a lot of space is required for this either, unless you are shooting from head to toe. However, I seem to continuously be shooting from the knee up for these floral portraits as it seems like the best crop to show off both the flowers and some fashion!

Can’t get a hold of a fresh flower bouquet? Try drawing or painting on top of your photo! Turn this challenge into a collage if you don’t want to purchase real flowers. It will add a unique twist to your photo.

Craft stores also have affordable fake flower options if you’re wanting to reuse the flowers after shooting. And they really do last for a long time! Every time I purchase craft flowers, I continue to use them for years or until I have no use for them. It’s great for a quick prop in any situation!

If you try this, don’t forget to tag #CreateWithChelle on Instagram! I’d love to see what your create!
