Selkie Puff Dress Dupes
I’ll admit that Selkie dresses are gorgeous. An absolute dream come to life. However, the pricing is also something that I am only willing to spend in my dreams as well!
I’m quite a frugal shopper and over analyze every detail when it comes to buying something I love. I did consider buying a Selkie dress several times, but was always hesitant. As more and more styles popped up, I decided the price and shipping time just simply wasn’t worth the hassle.
Selkie dresses are truly one-of-a-kind, but I also noticed a few dresses where the bust was see-through and poorly crafted. If so much fabric can be put into the skirts of the dresses, why isn’t there more layering to cover the top? I’ll just say, not everyone wears a bra!
Let’s be real, I’d love to own an actual Selkie dress. They do have some dresses that meet all my criteria. However, like many others I can’t afford all the puff dresses I want!
Instead, I’ve found a few alternative puff dresses that are both affordable and made with quality.
Side note: I understand that fast-fashion is often great for smaller budgets, but I will be excluding brands like Shien and Amazon due to various reasons. However, all dresses listed below are under $100.

Etsy stores are always my go-to spot when searching got quality, affordable items. Sometimes it may take a bit of searching, but read the reviews in order to figure out what is worth buying.
Atelier Buket creates handmade puff dresses in various colors and prints ranging from $60 to $80. Delivery times are a bit longer as the shop is based in Turkey. Most recommendations say to size up.
Morning Lavender
Check out Morning Lavender for all your floral dreams! Prices range from $70 to $90 depending on style.
You can find so many different floral patterns either in a classic style puff dress or full-length gown. Perfect for a touch of femininity and timeless fashion.
Altar’d State
For everyday, trendy style check out Altar’d State. Most items are under $100
However, Altar’d State is very seasonal, so depending on the time of year you will only find specific colors or patterns. You’ll find more florals during spring and more solid, neutral colors in winter.
Francesca's
For both price and quality, Francesca’s is the best bet ranging from $50 to $80.
You can find various colors and prints, as well as classic and casual style puff dresses. The only downside is the limited length as most of the time it seems there are only mini dresses. But there are still a lot of options to choose from!
Lulus
Lulus curates beautiful clothing for every type of style and budget. While most dresses are around $80 to $90, usually you can find a good sale for a better deal.
Lulus is also great for finding various patterns and lengths!
