Laguna Beach Pirate Tower

The Pirate Tower in Laguna Beach is no secret. However, it is a bit of an Orange County hidden gem just waiting to be discovered! It isn’t visible from the main road and at times parking can be a bit difficult.

Not only that, but the Pirate Tower is only accessible during low tide. It’s important to note that high tide in Laguna can be dangerous due to rocky, slippery surfaces and strong waves. Before visiting, check out the tide charts on Surf-Reports for the best times to go!

Don’t let these warnings deter you from visiting the Pirate Tower though! It is an amazing spot to visit and worth the trip.

So how do you get to the tower?

The easiest way to get here to to park along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) outside the neighborhood of Victoria Beach. There is no public parking allowed in the neighborhood, but the staircase to Victoria Beach is just a short walk away from PCH.

You’ll find the staircase between Victoria Drive and Sunset Terrace. After getting to the beach, you’ll want to walk around the cliff on the immediate right.

Depending on the time of year, it can either be a clear sandy stretch or a bit of a hike across the rocks. I suggest wearing appropriate shoes just in case you need to walk over the rocks.

Once you get around the corner you’ll immediately see the Pirate Tower! The Laguna Beach Pirate Tower is one of the most unique attractions in Orange County. Have fun and enjoy the beach!
