Strawberry Dreams
To say I’m currently a bit strawberry obsessed is a bit on an understatement! Recently, I’ve just been so hooked on strawberry items and creating my own pieces. Strawberries always remind me of good memories during spring and summer, so I decided to pay tribute to one of my favorite fruits.
Unexpectedly, I ended up creating three pieces in this mini collection. And it all started with the Strawberries & Cream Earrings!
Every year in mid-spring, there's a local Strawberry Festival. To be honest, it's not actually that exciting. But the one thing you can always depend on is all the different strawberry treats! My go-to has always been a bowl of fresh strawberries topped with a bunch of sweet whipped cream. It's enough to feed at least three people and oh so delicious!
For weeks I was just envisioning my resin flowers paired with some cute strawberries. Being stuck at home, I just couldn't get the image out of my head. So, I got to work searching for materials to find the perfect charm. And that took me down a rabbit hole or a bunch of different jewelry findings.
I already had other floral charms in my tool box and once everything else I needed arrived, I just started combining a bunch of different pieces to see what worked and what didn't! It was fun trying to figure it all out, like a puzzle waiting to be solved.
That's where Strawberry Fields Necklace comes in! Multiple charms and pendants on one layer was never my style, but seeing the strawberry side by side with the flower just spoke to me. Both could still shine on their own, but also compliment one another without being too overpowering.
Strawberry Bloom Earrings was also an unexpected creation as I originally planned for them to be hoops. But I made a silly mistake and didn't check the gauge size, which ended up being too big to fit into any normal piercing. Trust me, I tried testing one and all it did was make my ear sore! In the end, I believe it worked out as things were meant to as the flower studs flow better with the other pieces.
Seeing all these items come to life is such a dream! Everything came out how I imagined and I'm just so happy with the results. I immediately started wearing the necklace after I finished creating my first batch!
