Rosemary Latte

There’s something special about brewing a coffee right at home. The comforting aroma that fills your kitchen, the warmth of home, and the satisfaction of sipping on a cup made exactly the way you like it—there’s truly no experience quite like it. Learning to make your own coffee can be both rewarding and surprisingly simple.

And for a truly homemade experience, crafting your own syrups can really elevate your cup of coffee. It may sound challenging, but it’s actually quite easy. You only need two ingredients to make a simple syrup. From there, the possibilities are endless! Infuse the syrup with herbs, spices, or even fruits to create custom flavors that perfectly complement your brew.

Let’s start with the basics:

For a simple syrup you will want a 1:1 ratio of white sugar and water. Because everything cooks together, to get a rosemary infusion, add about 3 to 4 sprigs of rosemary.

Start with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water.

In a small saucepan, add all your ingredients. Turn your heat to med-high, stirring occasionally. As your syrup begins to boil, you’ll notice the color change which is a good sign! Let the sugar completely dissolve before taking it off the heat.

Wait for your syrup to cool down before transferring to a separate container.

Your syrup should last about a month if properly stored in the refrigerator.

If the syrup becomes cloudy, develops a bad smell, or shows any signs of mold, discard it.

Now it’s time for coffee!

Everyone has their own preference for the perfect cup of coffee, so adjust accordingly. I prefer an iced latte with oat milk and love to make everything fancy and pretty.
