Fill Your Heart With Love

Life is a series of tiny little miracles. It’s time to notice them.

It’s all too easy to get swept away by the chaos and inconveniences in life. But with the start of a new year (and to be honest, any time of year) let your mind focus on the positive aspects of your daily life. Prioritize gratitude and take note of what brings you joy and fulfilment.

Start by grabbing an empty jar or container. Every week add a note with a good thing that has happened, what filled your heart with love, or little moments of happiness. At the end of the year, empty the jar and read about the amazing year you had!

Customize these moments in a way that feels special to you. Whether that’s decorating your own jar or picking out a specific shape. This heart shaped jar was the perfect addition to my side table and my own girly, pink aesthetic.

Instead of just folding paper notes, I decided to cut up regular printing paper and roll it into a scroll with a little ribbon. This actually gives a lot more space to write and I can fit more memories into the jar. Plus, it’s so cute and makes me want to keep writing!

Practicing gratitude is beneficial in so many ways, especially if you struggle with mental health issues. According to research, by focusing on the positive aspects of life, symptoms of depression and anxiety can be reduced. You retrain your thought process to focus on the present instead of negative thoughts from the past or future.

If a memory jar doesn’t fit your lifestyle, try journaling. Remember your thoughts are for you and you alone. There is no judgement when expressing your heart, so be open and honest to better understand yourself.

At the end of the day you deserve all the good things that come your way.
