Orange County: Best Instagrammable Coffee Shops II
The coffee scene in Orange County, California is amazing. There’s so many hidden gems amongst the plethora of cafes. With social media though, sometimes these independent coffee shops focus just a little too much on aesthetics than the actual drinks.
And I love a good aesthetic! However, if I’m paying extra for a specialty coffee I at least want the coffee to be better than what I’m able to make at home. After checking out some more places, I’ve found some new favorites.
So, I’m continuing my list of the best Instagrammable coffee shops that actually serve drinks that are worth the visit. Get ready to grab an iced latte and snap some cute pics!
Check out Part 1 here!
Da Vien Coffee
Garden Grove
Recommendation: Ube Coffee
DaVien claims to have the best Vietnamese iced coffee in town and to be honest, they really do live up to that statement. It takes about twenty five minutes for me to drive to Garden Grove, but the Ube Coffee is just that good! I’ve never been able to replicate it at home or find an alternative spot.
Their original coffee shop is in Westminster, but their Garden Grove location is next level with the ambiance and design. It’s spacious, bright, and the staff is always friendly.
Whip Dessert and Cafe
Huntington Beach
Recommendation: Pandan Coffee
Enjoy a quick coffee or stay for high tea at Whip Dessert and Cafe. While I haven’t stayed for tea, the coffee and pastries are absolutely delicious! Just thinking about their croissants makes me want to visit again!
If you like coconut flavors, try the Pandan Coffee. It has a more subtle coconut taste with a hint of vanilla that creates its own unique flavor.
Coffee Dose
Costa Mesa
Recommendation: Seasonal or Caramel Latte
I’ve been to every Coffee Dose location and personally I love the Costa Mesa cafe the best. Somehow the coffee is way better, delicious food, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Every other spot seems to have rude baristas and subpar coffee. (Sorry not sorry!)
Some spots have specialty drinks specific to the location, which can be fun. But for a good experience, I highly recommend Costa Mesa. Plus, there’s way more seating with both indoor and outdoor dining.
Thank You Coffee
Anaheim
Recommendation: Boring Latte or Pandan Blue Milk ( add shot of espresso)
Thank You Coffee transports you to modern Japan with traditional flavors blended into elevated drink creations. And if you’re not feeling adventurous they also have the staples like americanos, cappuccinos, cold brew and more.
There is no other coffee shop quite like Thank You in Orange County. To be honest, it’s not the comfiest place to sit because I am quite a restless person, but I do love the design and culture that this place brings to Anaheim.
The Boba Place
Fullerton
Recommendation: Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea
Obviously I go to The Boba Place for tea and boba, but there are some coffee options if that’s what you prefer. Try the tea though! I’m pretty simple when it comes to tea, but if a tea shop can make a really good brown sugar or basic milk tea then that’s all I need. And that’s exactly what this spot does.
This spot is cute and comfortable with a quiet vibe. Bonus that the interior has a pop of pink with the tiled wall!
Honorable Mentions:
If you’re in the OC area, definitely check out these coffee shops when you get the chance!
