Derma E Hair Care

Recently, Derma E released a new line of hair care products. It’s probably been about four months since I started using the Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner. I also received Scalp Relief Shampoo & Conditioner and had Lenny try those since he tends to have a dry scalp.

While I’m usually not a fan of therapeutic hair products, mainly because of the smell, I thought I’d give it a try since I love most of the skincare from Derma E. Plus, I’m always curious about these types of products anyways!

First impressions, I was so amazed how little I needed of the product when showering, especially because the containers are kind of small. It really goes a long way! I usually use tons of conditioner, but I only needed about a quarter-sized dollop in order to properly work it through my hair. After a few months, I’m still surprised I have plenty shampoo and conditioner left! I have about a half full container of shampoo and just a little less than half of the conditioner.

Not only does Derma E provide a long lasting product, it also leaves my hair feeling clean for roughly 2-3 days. Before, I would feel greasy every single day no matter what I did. With Derma E, my hair still looks and smells fresh for a couple days before its time to wash again!

Now onto the smell! While I’d love to try another more fruity or floral scent, the Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner actually isn’t bad. Although it is minty, it isn’t overpowering and I don’t mind using it. I’m very picky when it comes to scent, so the fact that it’s light and fresh compared to a lot of other hair care is perfect!

I’d probably never use the Scalp Relief Shampoo & Conditioner unless necessary, though. It has more of a menthol mint scent and I’m not a fan…Luckily, Lenny has separate shampoo and conditioner for his beard, so the Derma E products go unnoticed. And thankfully it truly does do the job for calming dry scalps. I haven’t seen a better improvement with any other brand for Lenny!

The Results

Let’s back it up a little bit. I actually have naturally thin hair! Sometimes I can create an illusion with wavy textures or I simply wear a wig (cause it’s fun!). I also need trim, but hopefully these photos properly show the results of my hair. The first photo was shot back in May shortly after I had a hair trim and balayage. The second photo was shot this month after a few months of using Derma E, no haircut or color touch-ups.

I’ve noticed the baby hairs around my hairline have grown back a lot more full and fluffy, giving me more confidence for everyday styling. If I pull my hair back into a ponytail, I can actually feel how much thicker my hair has gotten as well. It looks healthier than before and doesn’t feel stiff or dry.

I’m sure when I finally get a hair cut, my hair will look even better! It wasn’t until recently that a stylist told me that thin hair is better without layers and I’ve been getting layers all my life! So I’m excited to see what my hair will look like once it finally gets a proper cut.

Final Thoughts: With the noticeable improvement and how long the shampoos and conditioners last, I would say Derma E is definitely worth giving a try! Right now, there are four different options to help you target specific hair care needs and I think I might just try another set soon!
