#CreateWithChelle: Home Portraits Challenge Two

It's okay to not be okay.

Staying positive does not mean you have to be happy all the time. You're allowed to be scared, happy, frustrated, or anything else while you're stuck at home during this tough time. We are only human after all. But also remember to cherish your loved ones and take note of how fortunate you really are. If you have access to the Internet and are reading this blog post, that is a true testament to living beyond basic human needs.

Enough with the rambling! On to the challenge.

Challenge Two: Emotions

Instagram is a highlight reel, showcasing our best moments in life. As a fashion photographer/blogger my feed is usually filled with beautiful smiles and perfectly dressed humans. There's nothing wrong with loving a good aesthetic! But now is the time to break down those barriers, even if it’s only a little bit.

Find a space you're most comfortable in and let your true emotions flow through you during this challenge. It can be raw and real or you can set up a scene for a more creative atmosphere in order to help you express what is bottled inside. If you are genuinely happy, show it! Any type of emotion is acceptable. You are allowed to feel however you are feeling.

My Thoughts: To be honest, this challenge was tough for me. Not only was the lighting difficult, but my original idea wasn’t quite working out. It was another situation where I spent an hour and a half trying to capture what I wanted. The second shot is my actual frustration over working in such a tiny space and trying to think of what to do on top of already feeling exhausted after the first half-hour.

I also have mixed feelings about the shots I was able to get out of this, but I’m proud for pushing myself. This is definitely not something I would usually create, but I guess that’s part of challenging yourself. Now time for a nap!
