Oregon Diaries: Cannon Beach

Small beach towns will always hold a special place in my heart. I grew up right by the ocean and the atmosphere around the town was always so peaceful and easy-going.

I’ve been wanting to visit Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock for a while now. Cannon Beach is about a 90-minute drive from Portland. The drive is absolutely beautiful! If you have the time to go, take a day to enjoy the town. Unfortunately, the day we were able to go was quite rainy. But it made for a great adventure! Even in the rain, the drive was still amazing.

We stocked up on warm drinks for the drive and headed out to the beach. Right as we got into town, the rain stopped. It was so perfect! We had just enough time to check out Haystack Rock before it started pouring down hard! Stormy beach weather is never that fun, but being able to explore Cannon Beach with zero worries was worth the trip.

Most of the time I get so anxious if things don’t go as planned. I’m learning to embrace whatever happens, which makes for such a freeing experience. Might as well dance in the rain instead of fighting it!
